I wiped some sweat from my head as I hit the enter key. There story part two finished!

I sighed as I looked around.

I couldn't believe that not only had I been able to find a home of my own,(granted this was the country not the residential city I was used to) but also was able to keep one of the computers to use as my own, plus my parents said they'd leave me alone.

I'd recently been chatting up with a friend I met online telling him about the move, my friend had been the one who suggested the place i'd moved to. Though I wasn't all that impressed, the city I had moved to was kinda small, I didn't really pay attention to the name of the city though I did manage to find an apartment with a low rent cost, and there was a grocery store nearby, still, I couldn't help but think that I was missing something.

I looked at the calender and sighed, Halloween was just around the corner, and I still didn't have a costume, not that I thought I needed one, it was just that most people wore costumes on halloween and i'd never had one whenever it came around.

I sighed as I looked at my computer, my 'turning point' story series was going good, already two stories and it was somewhat popular. Though I really wished I could find a costume similar to the main character of my series: An anthro-shapshifting dragon. Just so I could impress the kids.

It was at about that point that my computer started beeping, indicating a new e-mail message.

I simply sighed as I went over. With my luck it would be spam or junk-mail. Advertisements for stuff that i'd never need. I sighed as I clicked on the "new" icon and opened the one new e-mail message. I groaned as I saw another advertisement, but this one struck me as interesting. It was for someplace called the "Second Identity" and it was obvious it was a costume shop. I checked the address and was kinda surprised at how close it was, I could probably walk there.

I nodded as I went over to the door, put on my tennis shoes, put my MSN messenger status to "be right back", grabbed my wallet and went out the door.

Drethan sighed as he went to work on his next costume, he groaned. Dragons, dragons always dragons, what did the people see in them anyway? Drethan sighed again as he went about his creation, this one was definitely going to be much more powerful then the others..only because somehow it had absorbed a little of Drethan's magic and somehow had been able to amplify it, which was a scary thought as none of Drethan's other costumes had been able to do that.

Drethan was pretty impressed by the suit's inner magic, it had various elemental magics but the costumes' and Drethan's greatest achievement was that the suit could polymorph or shapeshift.

The costume could quite literally turn into anything the wearer could possibly desire (as long as the suit accepted the wearer of course). Drethan made a few last minute spells and then set the costume up in the back, he had to make sure that the person that wore it wouldn't just wear it once and decide to simply stay a dragon, he wanted the person to have a love of something new and different so the costume would change from a dragon into something like, a griffin for example. Drethan smiled, this costume wasn't just a dragon costume.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I found the store, it had the title of the advertisement "second identity" it also had a lot of amazing costumes. I sighed as I looked in the shop, all these costumes must cost a fortune! I patted my pocket warily as I stood outside of the front door to the shop.

"$100 can't possibly pay for one of these costumes." I muttered aloud as I went inside.

As I looked I saw...animal costumes. Row on row on row of animal costumes! Foxes, wolves, lions, tigers, birds, whales! And they were so realistic! I practically ran into a pikachu costume that I could see not just little boys or girls but even maybe certain pokémon fanatics begging for.

I must've been staring for awhile because I heard a voice near me say "Can I help you?" and nearly jumped out of my skin!

I turned toward the man about to say "just browsing" and stopped. The man was old, at least according to my standards. He walked fine but he had quite a few wrinkles on his head, and didn't seem to be the kind of person to run a shop like this on his own, then again looks could be deceiving as I nodded and found myself asking

"Do you have a dragon costume? I mean I see several here but I'm looking for something...specific." the man nodded as he went into the back room.

'must be where his special costumes are' I thought as the man came out with one of the most amazing, (albeit big) costumes I'd ever seen. Even though the appearance was similar to that of a personally loathed cartoon called "Care bears" I had no doubt what it was,the costume looked identical to the character in my story series!

The body was bright blue with a white tummy that had a rainbow on the chest region, it had five clawed fingers, and three clawed toes, the tail was bright blue as well, about halfway down though the color striped showing a bunch of multi-colored segments that stopped at the tip,and don't get me started on the wings, the same bright blue color formed the wing edge while a bright red made up the skin that made up the inside, the wingspan was also impressive, around 10 feet wow! The muzzle was a bit round for a dragon though, and it had brown hair which was not very dragon like. The suit was also overly large ...about 12 feet tall if I could guess by how it was dragging on the floor. It looked like an 'anthro' dragon as I considered it.

I sighed as I looked at it. It looked so amazing even if it was big, I even put out a hand to touch the material, the material felt like latex or something similar to that, the scales looked real not painted, I was slightly taken aback at how real it looked. I sighed as I reached for his wallet

"How much?" I asked figuring the costume would cost a fortune, I heard of such costumes hitting the $300 mark and those were the cheap ones!

"For you my young man, it's free." the man replied, I practically fainted right there on the shop floor!

Free?!? What kind of game was this old man playing?

I coughed. "No offense uh.." I forgot to ask for his name it was a bad habit.

"Drethan" The man responded.

"Right Drethan, no offense but why are you giving this out for free?" I asked and Drethan gave me a strange look.

"It's so I can see if this costume is worth mass-producing." Drethan said waving a hand as if that explained it, which, funny enough, it did.

"Oh ok so I'm just testing it out?" I asked.

"That would be the general idea." Drethan said now sounding annoyed.

"Um ok" I smiled as Drethan got a box out, folded the costume, and put it inside.

"Have a nice day" Drethan responded as I took the box, still stunned as to how I got the costume in the first place.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The costume was fidgeting, impatient. It hated the blackness and silence of it's prison, it wanted to move, to feel alive, but until this human (whoever he was) opened the box and put him on, he wouldn't be able to feel that wonderful sensation, the costume had felt the wish even before the man walked into the shop. You didn't have to be a mind reader to see he liked dragons. The wish was practically stamped there, black and white, clear as crystal! The costume would've sighed if it could, however it knew that the human was also wondering if it would fit, if only the human knew how well the suit would fit, and how it would fulfill his innermost secret desires.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I practically skipped up the front porch, this costume was amazing, then I stopped. Wasn't the suit a bit big? It probably wouldn't fit. I groaned as I realized that I might've just made a serious mistake with my free purchase, I mean a costume was just a useless decoration if it didn't fit!

I sighed as I went into my apartment, my happy mood forgotten, I now sulked around the place until I looked at the clock: 11:00P.M? Yikes! I needed to get in the shower!

In retrospect I probably shouldn't have opened the box partially before taking off my clothes to prepare for the shower, I also probably should have checked the costume more carefully to see it slightly moved when I got close, like it was caught in a wind, yet there was no wind in the apartment.

Whatever the case as I was taking off my clothes I heard a rustling sound, like something sliding along the floor. I looked behind me and there was the costume. Lying halfway between the bathroom and my bedroom in the hall. I did a double-take. Wasn't the costume in the box all the way back in the living room when I went in my bedroom? I probably should put it back so it doesn't get too wrinkled.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The costume felt the human presence get closer and cursed the fact that it was only able to go so far before going inanimate again, on the other hand, now the human was most likely going to touch it, and then it would make it's move.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I sighed as I went out into the hallway in my underwear and reached to get the costume "OK big guy, walk is over, time to get back in the box." I said reaching for it, only to have one of the claw hands come up and grab me!

I gasped and started waving my arm frantically "leggo leggo!" I exclaimed trying to get the claw hand off my own only to have the costume literally flow on top of me, it seemed to be trying to place and line up all of it's body parts in relation to my own. Claw hand to my hand, paw to foot, tail to backside, it all seemed so...methodical.

The entire time I was struggling, but it was like trying to struggle against bubble gum, the more you struggled the more you got stuck, not to mention the fact that the costume had somehow gained a semi-solid consistency. Not quite solid but not quite liquid either.

The costume started to encase me inside itself and all I could do is watch as it lined up it's lower body parts to my own then pulled them inside, then the costume sort of slumped, carrying me with it, until I practically did a face-plant right on the head region! The head then began to encircle my own head, the whole experience was pretty awkward because the costume was so much bigger than me so even though it had lined itself up and had enveloped me so I was wearing it the costume was still half-empty or about that, then I heard a voice in my own mind.

Sorry about the baggy fit, but I wanted to be able to talk to you before the changes began.

I had about two seconds to wonder 'changes?' before I heard a crunch and cried out in pain. My ribs had felt like they had been smashed and then I heard popping sound coming from the same area.

Don't worry the voice said consolingly you're just filling up the costume, the only real complicated parts are the increased size, the wings, tail, horns and face. Once those are in and we grow you a bit to fill the suit we can discuss powers and the permanent merging process.

I wasn't paying any attention, the crunching and agony was so bad that I practically passed out as my legs and hips broke so they could lengthen and widen not to mention change position so that I was walking on my toes, then my arms and shoulders did the same thing, as my inner organs decided with the increased chest space, they could now move around, so gurgling noises sounded from my chest as my organs relocated. I thought I was seriously going to puke. Then my neck started to lengthen, imagine someone shoving boards straight into your neck one board at a time, that was what it was like. I groaned then the voice cut in and it sounded more cheerful.

Well the size is taken care of don't you think? I looked and saw that the leg and arm segments that were empty before had filled out, I sighed, but my relief was short lived.

'Now for the claws on the hands and feet, you're lucky they gave you the same number of fingers, can't say the same for your toes though.' The voice commented.

I was wondering what it meant when I looked down and understood, I only had three toes on each clawed foot!  I groaned as the crunching sound rent the air again like a gunshot, I knew that two of my toes had broken so that they could fuse together, and I was pretty sure they were the last two digits, I couldn't see through the costume so I had to guess. My fingers itched a bit but other than that the hand wasn't bad. Then I felt a stabbing pain in my back like two knives were trying to push their way out blade-edge first.

Just the wings, he gave you a pretty generous wingspan the voice commented, man this voice liked to talk! The stabbing and thrusting continued as I saw the wings fill out and straighten, I sighed realizing I was lying down on the floor just so my head wouldn't hit the ceiling.

Almost there! Just need to align and lengthen the face and grow those horns, trust me you'll thank me later.

This was taking forever, then I gasped as my breathing was cut off as my face pulled outward, I start thrashing around, and this caused more pain for me.

Quit struggling or it'll just hurt more! The voice practically shouted as my breathing came back to me, man that was torture!

That was around the time I remembered about the horns, another stabbing pain similar to the one that I had gotten when my wings filled out assaulted my head. I whined and groaned. As that finished I was sure I was done, and was about to demand what the costume had done to me but of course the voice had to get one more word in.

Whoops forgot the tail.

How could I be so idiotic? With all the changes going on and the voice telegraphing which change was coming next I completely forgot the most basic of animal features: the tail. I had a nasty sensation like I was being pulled backwards and I dug my hands...err make that claws now, into the floor as a nasty sensation like something extremely sharp was being forced out of my back hit me. As it finished the voice seemed overjoyed.

Well that was sure something, I usually expect people to scream as much as possible and struggle pointlessly when a costume decides to merge with them but you took it quite well. Wanna see your reflection? The eyes work fine you should know. The voice commented but I had questions.

What are you? I asked in my head.

You didn't figure that out already?!? Man are you slow! I'm the costume silly!

Wait, the voice that was talking to me the entire time, the voice that told me about this transformation, was the very costume I had gotten from that old man Drethan?!?

I'd expected you to have figured that out by now, oh and also, my name is Rainbowdragon and so is yours.

Wait what did that mean? "my name is Rainbowdragon and so is yours?"

My name's Nathan and for the record costumes typically don't merge with people or telepathically talk with them you psycho!

Correction: Your name was Nathan now you are Rainbowdragon, or in other words, you are me so that would make you as much of a psycho as I am! The costume finished with a bit of smugness attached to it.

I didn't have time to argue with this...as far as I was concerned this was all some bad dream, and tomorrow I'd wake up and this would all be over.

Oh and tomorrow don't expect to be a dragon, I'm a polymorpher or shapeshifter and I've been dying to try out some of these powers!

Oh great, a shapeshifting costume. I knew what shapeshifting was: the ability to change form, in other words this costume could change into that tiger I saw at the shop.

Aren't you going to check out your new body,or worry about me all day? the costume asked and the way it asked it really made me mad, but I supposed you just had to deal with it, after all it sounded like it never had a chance to do something like this and as far as it was concerned I was simply delaying it.

I decided it couldn't hurt to look at myself, the only problem was, I couldn't stand up without banging my head on the ceiling. Well in that case maybe I should go outside. Yeah and go back to Drethen and demand an explanation as to what is going on! I crawled on my hands and knees to the door and opened it, then I went outside and found a lake, what I saw stunned me, I was an impressive specimen of anthro dragon. I had that ten foot wingspan, and though I didn't know how to fly yet I could fold and unfold my wings quite easily.

My brown hair was messy yet it somehow looked right on me, I was walking on my toes, digitigrade-style, and my claws looked liked they could slice through anything, my bright-blue scales sparkled as the moonlight hit it and I found myself staring with my huge hazel eyes until I realized that I wanted to see Drethen and get an explanation as to what happened.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I found myself in front of the costume shop again, I sighed as I looked at myself. I was actually quite nervous as to what would happen if someone saw me but it was late at night and there was no one out, lucky for me. I went to the door which opened even though the shop door said 'closed'.

Drethan was standing there looking at me with a inquisative expression on his face. I didn't hesitate, I went straight up until we were about 4 inches apart.

"What in the world did you do to me?!?" I demanded gesturing to my overly large body, the sharp claws and the unnatural wings that were now me.

Drethan simply sighed, shook his head and answered "What did I do, why I granted your fondish wish of course."

The expression 'be careful what you wish for' flashed across my head for a second before I responded "But I never said I wanted to be this."

"You may not have said it with your head but your wish said it loud and clear. You wanted to be a shapeshifting dragon, and I gave you a costume that let you become a shapeshifting dragon. You should be happy" Drethan said

"Well, I'm not happy!" I roared, the roar was primal and animallike, very much like a dragon "How am I supposed to go out into society looking like this?!?"

"It's nearly halloween right? Just tell people you're wearing a costume, besides the costume has a failsafe, people that live here won't be able to remember seeing you for long." Drethan replied

" OK but what about when halloween is over?" I asked calming down a bit, seeing as to how apparently this old man seemed to take into account what might happen if a large anthro dragon of my size was running around scaring the living daylights out of random passersby.

"Well I could send you to a different place where you could live peacefully, though I have had other customers and they've somehow managed to stay here, maybe you should look for them" Drethan suggested.

I thought that one over, being with other people in a similar situation to myself might be for the best, but, how in the world would I find them? Well I decided to save that until after halloween, I sighed.

"How do you fly this thing?" I asked aloud temporarily forgetting that Drethan was standing right there.

"Your costume should know how, just ask it." Drethan replied
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The flight home was a lot easier then i thought it would be, the costume didn't even need to hold my hand, it just gave me a few simple instructions and I was not only flying, but flying well. It was a refreshing feeling, although now I was tired and I decided it was time for bed, I somehow managed to get inside by crawling, my hips got caught in the doorway though which the costume thought was pretty funny, though it promised me I'd have an easier time tomorrow, as I went to bed I decided that this was for the best after all.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next morning:

I woke up to find I was a lot shorter, then I realized I was too short. I had to reach up on my tiptoes just to get the doorknob open, and even then I had to jump to reach the knob.I sighed.

You said you were going to make me smaller but did you have to make me this small? What am I anyways? I asked the costume.

Look at the mirror and find out. the costume replied, though I could've sworn it was about to laugh.

I went to the bathroom, jumped on the toilet and then jumped on the sink. I was surprised that I was so short, I looked in the mirror and saw, I was a pikachu. You know those cute, red-cheeked, yellow mouse pokémon that you see in the video games and on TV? Yeah that pikachu.

I was only a foot and a half tall, which is very short. I wagged my lightning-bolt shaped tail absentmindedly, staring at my reflection, wow this body was functional.

I sighed making a mental note that I was doing that a lot today, and yesterday too.

'Well at least the body is an old standby to a costume, and I do look like the real deal.' I smiled slightly

Yeah and fortunately you can still speak English, I mean it's not like we're going to run into anyone else that knows only pokespeak right?

Yeah I thought as I headed for the door, today was a new day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Later that night:

I smiled as I handed out candy, the suit had given me back the dragon body after I had said that a pikachu suit was way too common to use as a fake costume not to mention being so short would make handing out the candy nearly impossible. So here I was, a 12 foot dragon, yet no one looked at me twice as I passed out candy, all I got were compliments, I smiled. Maybe I could stay here awhile longer, this costume was fun after all.
This is an entry into :icontransryu: halloween costume tf contest. I actually think this is the best story I wrote so far.
I did a lot of going back and going over details but overall it's a good story. I had to do a lot of backtracking and correcting Please comment for the love of all that is holy! (lol)
